The pot

Our gardens arrive planted in our bulb pans and then nestled into the pictured decorative outer pot:

  • 8-inch bulb pans are 4 inches tall, 8 inches wide at the top, and 6.75 inches wide at the bottom.
  • 10-inch bulb pans are about 5 inches tall, 10 inches wide at the top, and 8 inches wide at the bottom.
  • 12-inch pans are about 6 inches tall, 12 inches wide at the top, and 9.5 inches wide at the bottom.

How it works

We start your flowers in a special nursery bulb pan, made to keep roots happy and healthy. Its shallow shape lets air flow around the bulbs, so there’s less chance of soggy roots or rot.

To get ready for blooming, the bulbs go through a chilly 'fake winter' in our coolers — yep, just like a nap for plants! After about 16 weeks, they’re ready to sprout.

Then, we tuck the bulb pan into a stylish decorative pot (a cachepot or overpot in industry terms) and send it off to you, ready to bloom in its new home.

Your Happiness Blooms garden will arrive with early shoots showing, as they start to push through the soil. You'll get to watch the growth process, buds emerging, and blooms unfolding.

How we make our Potted Bulb Gardens

No gardening experience necessary! We do it all for you.

How? We plan ahead. At least 16 weeks before they ship, we plant our bulbs and place them in a  - a process typically called "forcing" but we prefer to call is gently coaxing.

Typically, tulips won't start to bloom until March; several varieties can bloom into June. Our Potted Bulb Gardens can be grown indoors starting in January!

We do extensive testing to ensure you are getting the potted bulb varieties that will give you the best results.

We guarantee that the majority of the bulbs provided will bloom. Four weeks gives the bulbs time to settle into their new home and mature into blooms. Remember, plants have a natural lifecycle and take time to fully mature; not all bulbs will bloom at the same time, and a few might not bloom at all. Our weekly growing updates, online resources, and team of experts are here to help you understand what to expect.   

Bloom Guarantee Details

  • When available, we will send to you a one-time complimentary replacement of the same product. If we do not have the same product available, we will offer a replacement of similar value. In some limited circumstances, we may, at our discretion, issue a refund or a merchandise credit (in the form of a gift card or otherwise) of the cost of potted garden minus our shipping costs incurred. 
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable.  
  • Please be aware that factors beyond our control, including human error, weather, and aesthetic preferences, and damage caused by hungry critters (including fur babies) are not covered are not covered. Human error includes choosing to grow the potted garden outside and not providing the necessary care during the life of the potted garden, including under or over watering or too much/too little sunlight.
  • Our Customer Success team may request photos or additional information to help inform quality control and to ensure that our products maintain our high-quality standards. 
  • Please keep in mind, every bulb is individual and unique and, just as in Mother Nature, perfection is not guaranteed. However, we can guarantee that you will receive the highest quality available in a timely manner and that a majority of the bulbs will bloom.
  • Our team will be happy to help troubleshoot and provide advice to help ensure success with your next bulb garden.
